Scottish Borders Planning Committee
25 March 2024
In March 2024, Scottish Borders Council's Planning and Building Standards Committee decided on a split vote 4-2 to raise an objection to the Greystone Knowe plans. The project was recommended by planning officers to raise no objection and, as the development is a S36 application, the decision to approve or refuse the application sits with the Energy Consents Unit. A Public Local Inquiry will now take place for the development and Coriolis Energy will review the comments raised by councillors in relation to the Greystone Knowe development.
Coriolis Energy is disappointed with the Council's decision as we have worked extremely hard to bring forward an acceptable proposal, which is in line with local and national policy. We would like to thank the local community and consultees for their input into the Greystone Knowe plans to date and helping to shape the project. The development, if consented and constructed, will produce renewable energy as well as benefit the local economy, provide community benefit and shared ownership opportunities.
